How well do you think you know Barend Holiday Village?? We know many of you have been visiting Barend Holiday Village for many years. After taking over last year we renamed our holiday rental business as Barend Holiday Lodges to describe what we do better. But we aren’t the only ones to have made changes… Over the last year or two, many of the lodge owners have refurbished and updated their lodges. Modern kitchens, new bathrooms, chic decor, unique furnishings: it’s all here. If you fancy trying something different, or maybe you haven’t been before and don’t know quite what there is on offer, read on!
Squirrel’s Chase (Lodge 58)
A new look for Squirrel’s Chase this year, with new carpets, beds, sofas and tables and soft furnishings. This lodge is luxurious all the way. Marble tables and plush velour seating make this a wooden lodge with more than a hint of glamour! Perfect if you prefer a modern feel to your holidays. Sit back and feel like a King or Queen, rubbing your toes in the thick pile carpet.
Squirrel’s Chase sleeps 8, has free wifi and accepts pets. See here for details and availability.
Log House (Lodge 8)
Log House has been totally refurbished over the last year. It has stayed traditional with its classy wooden decor and leather sofas, yet offers modern touches with the brand new kitchen and bathroom. The extended kitchen makes cooking for 8 easier and downstairs walk-in shower room is great for guests with limited mobility. A new panorama window lets the light in and enables you to enjoy the wonderful views. All furniture (from the king size beds to tables and wardrobes) are brand new and co-ordinated.
Log House sleeps 8 and accepts pets. See here for more information and availability.
Brackendale (Lodge 13)
Another Lodge that has undergone complete refurbishment this year. Bracken Lodge was bought in 2017 and since then the owners have pretty much stripped it back and upgraded it from 2 star to a strong 3 star standard. Similar to Log House, they have installed a new walk-in shower room downstairs and panorama window to enable guests to enjoy the loch views. New carpets throughout matched with new soft furnishings have given Bracken Lodge an updated feel. Likewise new beds, bedding and decor have greatly improved this lodge. New photos coming this week!
Bracken Lodge has a loch view, sleeps 8 and accepts pets. See here for more information and availability.
What a change a new carpet and suite can make! Already benefiting from an upgraded kitchen and bathroom in the last few years, lodge 5 has made changes elsewhere this year. Co-ordinated beds, carpets and sofas have given this lodge a great new vibe. Combined with a new (very) large TV downstairs, TV in the master bedroom and Sky, this is a great lodge for those who still like to keep in touch on holiday.
Lodge 5 has Sky TV, sleeps 8 and accepts pets. See here for more details and availability.
Panorama Lodge (Lodge 17)
Panorama Lodge was acquired recently and has undergone major refurbishments with the new owners to bring it up to four star standard. Already benefiting from an 3rd bathroom, the lodge has been re-carpetted throughout. New soft furnishings and a panorama window have transformed the living room, along with a new leather suite. Personal touches and co-ordinated designs give this accommodation a great feel. Upgraded king size beds and mattresses make for a great night’s sleep.
Panorama Lodge is 4 star, sleeps 6 and is pet-free. For more information and availability see here.
A kitchen is a major investment in any home, and here at Barend Holiday Lodges is no different. The following pictures show the kitchens installed over the last 2 years; they look absolutely stunning in real life too!
- Orchards, Lodge 16. Always a popular lodge, the updated kitchen in lodge 16 makes better use of the space and shows the owner’s willingness to constantly invest to keep their lodge to a high standard.
- Dunoon, Lodge 21. A new lodge to the rental scene this year, lodge 21 is re-investing its earnings and has started with a fantastic new kitchen, which extends out to give more space for cooking.
- Tigh Na Sonas, Lodge 47. Alongside a new kitchen, this lodge has also installed plush new carpets and will soon be installing a panorama window.
- Continuing the trend with walk-in shower rooms, Lodge 54 has also gone for this modern look, which matches
practicality with good looks. (A new white leather suite has also been installed in lodge 54 recently).
- Lodge 2 has installed a second shower in the upstairs bedroom, giving guests the option for a bath (in the already modernised master bedroom) or shower.
- Lodge 41 is currently being fitted with a new bathroom – expected completion date November. We’ll keep you posted!
Other major investments
Lodge 22, 72, 51 and 19 have upgraded their beds and mattresses – great for an even better night’s sleep! All lodges had new duvets and pillows this year. Many have made smaller alterations to decor as well.
